For patients who need the strength of traditional metal braces, ceramic braces can be a discreet alternative.

The tooth-coloured brackets and wires blend in with your smile so your braces are less visible.

How do ceramic braces work?

Ceramic braces function the same way as traditional braces, and are cemented to the front surface of your teeth. An archwire provides pressure on your teeth, gently moving them into position. As the treatment progresses, your dentist tightens or changes the archwires, applying light constant pressure to the teeth.

What are the benefits of ceramic braces?

  • They are subtle
  • They don’t demineralise tooth enamel
  • They don’t irritate the gums and the soft tissues in your mouth
  • An alternative for severe misalignment issues

How long do ceramic braces take to work?

The desired result depends on the complexity of your case and the system used.
