A dental implant is a small, titanium screw that is surgically placed inside your jawbone mimicking your missing tooth root and providing a solid base for an artificial tooth.

How many parts are there to an implant?

There are 3 parts. The titanium screw, the abutment and the crown.

Can anyone get implants?

To get an implant, you must have sufficient jawbone for the titanium screw to fuse correctly. Those candidates with bone that has atrophied may need to undergo a bone graft or a sinus lift before getting an implant.

Although dental implant surgery has a high success rate of 97%, medical conditions such as diabetes, or heavy smoking can undermine the success of the procedure.

How many implants will I need?
