Veneers are very thin sheaths of customised porcelain that adhere to the surface of your teeth.

They instantly improve the appearance of stained, small, damaged, misaligned or worn teeth. Veneers can mask chips and fractures, improve the colour and shape of your teeth and close small gaps in your smile.

Can anyone get a veneer?

If you satisfy these three conditions you can get veneers:

• You have enough enamel on your tooth to attach the veneer.
• You practice good oral hygiene.
• You have no existing conditions like gum disease or tooth decay.

Do I have to get veneers on all my teeth?

You can get veneers for one tooth or all your teeth. The number depends on what you want to correct in your smile.

How are veneers fabricated?

Your dentist removes about a ½ millimetre of enamel from your tooth. This aids in getting the veneers to bond correctly. Your dentist takes an impression and sends your measurements to the dental lab, where the technicians create a custom veneer. You will be fitted with temporary veneers to protect your prepped teeth.

How are veneers attached?

Once the surgery receives your customised veneers back from the lab, your dentist attaches them using a special, permanent adhesive.

Do porcelain veneers stain?

Porcelain veneers are made from a stain-resistant, colour-fast ceramic material. They cannot be bleached like a natural tooth, so limit your consumption of pigmented food and beverages to ensure your bright smile lasts.

Are veneers reversible?

Once your enamel has been removed from your tooth, it cannot be replaced. It is helpful to view the procedure as a long-term commitment.
